The Red Barn House began as a one-of-a-kind handcrafted dollhouse that I discovered on Marketplace. While it had wonderful bones, I envisioned something warmer, more inviting, and timeless.

The renovation became far more extensive than I originally planned. To improve the proportions of the home, I removed four inches from the top floor and completely rebuilt the roofline. Every room was stripped of its old carpeting and refinished with real hardwood floors, creating a warm, cohesive foundation throughout the house.

Inspired by America's upcoming 250th Independence Day celebration, I chose a classic red-and-white farmhouse palette and gave the home its address: 7426.

The Red Barn House features individually installed cedar shake shingles, a wraparound porch with a porch swing and seating area, custom wallpaper, handcrafted details, and carefully selected 1:12 scale furnishings. One of my favorite features is the French front door with its tiny glass doorknobs, welcoming you into a home designed to feel both elegant and lived in.

Like every restored historic home, The Red Barn House isn't perfect—and I think that's part of its charm. Because I chose to preserve much of its original character, there are a few small imperfections that tell the story of its transformation. I believe they add authenticity to a home that was lovingly restored rather than mass-produced. Let’s just say it’s perfectly imperfect!

This project became a true labor of love, with countless hours devoted to creating a miniature home that I hope will become a treasured heirloom for generations to come.

While the house is sturdy enough for gentle play, it was created primarily as a collectible miniature home. Delicate features such as the walnut staircase, cedar shake roof, and fine trim should be handled with care.
